The common lyrical/conceptual thread running through the album is finding peace of mind
and contentment amidst the increasingly tumultuous times that we’re living in. So the subject matter in several songs suggest some endeavors and mindsets that reflect that perspective …like the wonders of traveling and exploring new places without set-in-stone agendas (“Happy Traveling”), surrounding yourself with like-minded people who bring your spirits up (“You’re Speakin’ My Language”),taking time away from the rigors and routine of a 9 to 5 job (“Labor As Little As You Can”), not getting too caught up in consumerism (“Satisfied”).
Then there’s a couple of songs that point out things that entice, but overindulging in them could also come back and bite you, like social media (“The Oops I Wrote The Wrong Thing Blues”) vices (“”Habit Worth Havin’”). There’s a song that’ll hopefully help you avoid getting dispirited (“Worry No Mo’”) and another, fun, yet pointed song that takes on big talkers who promise big results but don’t deliver (“Mr. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah”). Then there’s a couple of triumph-over-adversity themed songs, ”I Don’t Fall Easy” and “Someone or Somethin’” that serve as centerpieces of empowerment. But in the unlikely event that all of the aforementioned themes and songs fail to buoy your spirits, the album-capping tune is a relaxing, feel-good, mind-freeing uptempo blues rhumba that provides a joyful musical elixir to get you to tomorrow: “A Little Feel-Good Latin Blues.”
