JEFF SAXON

Jeff Saxon is a highly regarded singer-songwriter, guitarist, ukulele player and music educator.  Jeff has won over 50 awards from various international songwriting, compositional, and film festival competitions.  He was a Finalist in the 2025 UK Songwriting Contest and in 2024 won the Global Music Awards Bronze award for Ensueno,” a uke-driven Latin-jazz instrumental composition.

Jeff has released 6 full-length albums of his original material (available from Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc.) including the brand new, all-blues collection, Happy Traveling, which includes a heaping portion of New Orleans styled blues, along with some jazzy blues, Americana, blues rock, neo Delta blues, and even a blues rhumba.  About half of the songs were written on uke and the rest on guitar, so his prowess on each instrument get a chance to be featured.  The supporting cast of outstanding musicians who played on the tracks hail from around the world,; all facilitated by the marvels of file sharing.

His 2013 release, Blujanova, earned praise from all over the world, including the United Kingdoms Blues Matters! Magazine, who wrote: Heres something with a real twist which is very absorbing and experimental…this unique musical gumbo really shines…”  U.S.-based Jazz Weekly described Blujanova as an intelligent recording that mixes jazz, adult soul and pop in a way I thought had been lost since Kenny Rankin died…(Saxons) got an earthy voice reminiscent of Bill Withers…”

Jeff’s 2018 release, The Ukulele Project, also drew praise from music reviewers worldwide, including UK-based Uke Planet who described it as simply magnificent…a salute to the characteristic spirit of the great Lyle Ritz and the writing talents of Randy Newman…”   An excerpt of this review was also published in Great Britains UKE Magazine.
