New and Newsworthy

The Ukulele Project

My ukulele-centered album has been in the works for awhile now, but I'm pleased to report that I'm projecting a May or June release for it.  The record will be called "The Ukulele Project" because it just felt the most logical and natural choice, considering all the songs were composed on uke and it being a featured instrument on each track.  The styles will be just as varied as they are on all my preceding 4 releases and will take the uke into fresh and not-often-explored stylistic directions such as bossa nova, jazz, reggae, R&B, country-pop and more.  I'm still mixing 1 or 2 songs, and then mastering and graphics design will follow, but I finally see the finish line and envision a release sometime in early summer.   I'll be posting snippets in the audio section here on my website, so you'll be able to get a preview.

By the way, 2 of the tunes on the album recently were Finalists in the 2017 UK Songwriting Contest.  One song was in the Blues/Jazz category and the other song in the Inspirational category (which is not one I usually write in, but in these trying times we live in, we all could use some positive inspiration and hope).

I'll be posting more updates on "The Ukulele Project" in the coming weeks.
